Users of the National Forest should be aware of hunting season dates.
It is actually permitted year round if anyone wants to go coyote hunting with either a furbearer or small game license.
But it is/"will be" more noticable September through November due to big game hunting -- deer and elk. Specififc license(s) are required from the State of Colorado.
In 2007 hunting terminology, the USFS-WRNF-DRD is in colorado's units 37, 371, S2, G6, G7, G15, G16, and the "Early Canada Goose" flyway.

In legal terms, the mapping is as follows for unit 371 and unit 37:
Unit 371 is the area of Summit County bounded
on N by Cataract Creek;
on E by Green Mtn Res and Blue River;
on S by I-70;
on W by Gore Range Divide.
Unit 37 is the area of Summit and Grand Counties bounded
on N by Colorado River;
on E by Barger Gulch, Williams Fork River-Blue River Divide, Williams Fork River-Straight Creek Divide and Continental Divide;
on S by Continental Divide;
on W by Eagle River-Tenmile Creek Divide, I-70, Blue River, Cataract Creek, and Gore Range Divide.

Trouble understanding that? If you are not a hunter then you can think of it in the following terms:
Unit 371 is the area of summit county, colorado that is north of I-70 that is west of CO HWY 9
and south of a line drawn on a map between the town of Heeney and Meridian Peak located in the Eagles Nest Wilderness.
Unit 37 is everything else if in summit county, colorado.

Same for units S2, G6, G7, G15, and G16 which are for sheep and goats. The legal terms mappings are:

S2 - (containing parts of Grand, Eagle, Summit) bounded
on N by N Fk of Elliot Cr to Elliot Ridge and from Elliot Ridge along Piney Ridge to Colo 131 at State Bridge;
on E by Blue Riv;
on S by I-70;
and on W by Colo 131.

G6 - (containing parts of Grand, Eagle, Summit) bounded
on N by Colorado Riv;
on E by Colo 9;
on S by I-70;
and on W by Colo 131.

G7 - (containing parts of Summit, Clear Creek) bounded
on N by US 6/I-70;
on E by Guanella Pass Rd;
on S by Pike-Arapahoe NF, Continental Div, Argentine Pass Tr, USFS Rds 260 and 5;
and on W by US 6.

G15 - (containing parts of Summit, Grand, Clear Creek) bounded
on N by USFS Rds 132 (Ute Pass Rd), 138 and 139 (Crooked Creek Rd) and Grand CR 50;
on E by US 40 and I-70/US 6;
on S by US 6/I-70 and US 6 over Loveland Pass;
and on W by US 6 and Colo 9.

G16 - (containing parts of Summit, Clear Creek, Park) bounded
on N by USFS Rds 260 and 5; Argentine Pass Tr, Continental Div and Pike-Arapahoe NF;
on E by Guanella Pass Rd;
on S by US 285;
and on W by Boreas Pass Rd, Colo 9 and US 6.

For "Early Canada Goose" Flyway . . . In legal terms (and it's understandable too!) it is the area
of colorado west of the continental divide.

Here is a hunting calendar for units 37, 371, S2, G6, G7, G15, G16, and the "Early Canada Goose" Flyway:
