06/07/2008 - Restoration Service Project
SATURDAY, JUNE 7, 2008 - NATIONAL TRAILS DAY - 8:30AM TO 1:00PM

Volunteers will help restore and rehabilitate the forest in the 
Acorn Creek area outside of the Wilderness Boundary at a low 
elevation. Meet at the Dillon Ranger Station at 8:00am for bagels, 
coffee, and a safety review. From there, we will carpool to our

SCOPE OF PROJECT:
WATER IS DESTROYING THIS TRAIL!!!
Our #1 priority is doing maintenance to keep water off the trail.
Our #2 priority is improving tread so users stay on trail.

Hardhats and gloves must be worn at all times.

THE FOLLOWING TOOLS WILL BE SUPPLIED BY THE FOREST SERVICE:
- Hard Hats
- Gloves
- Pick Mattocks
- Pulaskis/Pixies
- McCleods
- Shovels
- Buckets
- 1st Aid Kits 

ANYONE WEARING SHORTS . . . MAY NOT USE picks/pulaskis (safety protocol).

TO PREPARE FOR THIS PROJECT:
Dress in layers for a day outdoors. Bring water, work gloves, 
long pants, sturdy boots, sunglasses, sun hat, rain gear, 
insect repellent, and sunscreen. 

AFTER PROJECT:
Snacks and beverages will be provided at the end of workday 
tailgate party (around 1-ish).
