Forest Stewards Program Description
The Forest Stewards Program, FDRD's ongoing volunteer program includes leadership training and education for the Stewards for the particular initiative, as well as cross-training and education on all initiatives and other DRD volunteer opportunities.
Become a volunteer through any of the following initiatives:
Outreach Educator: Wear a Forest Service volunteer uniform and host trailheads, help at the Ranger Station's front desk, or assist in community events and educational programs.
Ranger Patrol: Hike in a Forest Service volunteer uniform, collect valuable user data for the National Forest, and educate trail users. You can also sign up to be a Ranger Patroller with your friends or family members to become Family Stewards.
Crew Leader: Lead volunteer crews for adopt-a-trail projects, service projects, and/or youth groups.
Adopt-A-Trail Group: As a local business or organization adopt one trail and commit to 3 days of trail maintenance, ranger patrols, or trailhead hosting efforts. For more information about getting involved, please contact:
