Join Guest Naturalist and FDRD Ski Ranger Scott Dazey on a leisurely paced snowshoe tour through the historic Bemrose Ski Circus. Learn about the old Hoosier Pass Ski Area that was in operation between the years of 1938 and 1951. Explore the old ski runs and warming hut! We will also learn interesting facts about wildlife, forests, geology, and mining history of the region. Hear fun fulled stories about the early settlers/miners lives, how they lived and how they survived in the Colorado mountains. We will explore the wonders of the natural world in the seemingly silent winter while taking in spectacular views of our iconic mountain landscape.
Tour is FREE and snowshoes are provided as needed. All you need is warm clothing, water, snacks, and of course your sense of wonder!
