When you hear the phrase "gold rush," what do you think of? Many people have heard of the California gold rush of 1849... However, this was not a single, isolated event. In fact, there were several major gold rushes in North America in the 19th century beginning in 1799. All were connected in a number of interesting ways and all were profoundly important in American history. Additionally, there were a number of similar events worldwide during the same period.
Come and hear the story of these fascinating events that shaped both our local Summit County history as well as that of our country!
