Snowshoe Through History Tour
When: This tour has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 20th, 2019 from 8:45 am to 12:30 pm due to dangerous avalanche conditions.
Where: Sts. John Mine Rd. - Montezuma
Join Guest Naturalist and FDRD Ski Ranger Scott Dazey on a leisurely paced snowshoe tour. We will explore the wonders of the natural world in the seemingly silent winter while taking in spectacular views of our iconic mountain landscape. Learn interesting facts about wildlife, forests, geology, and mining history of the region. Hear fun-filled stories about the early settlers/miners lives, how they lived and how they survived in the Colorado mountains. We will also be getting a tour of the old Montezuma Schoolhouse!
Tour is FREE and snowshoes are provided as needed (by request). All that you need is warm clothing, water, snacks, and, of course, your sense of wonder!
