Hippo Trail Construction With WRVFDRD-68-WEB.jpg

When: Saturday, August 24th 7:30am - 4:00pm AND Sunday, August 25th, 7:30am - 2:00pm

Where: Keystone Mountain House parking lot - W. Keystone Rd, Keystone

Join FDRD and Wildlands Restoration Volunteers on this overnight trail building project near beautiful Keystone! Hippo connects to the Colorado Trail and the Continental Divide Trail, but was built in an unsustainable and unsanctioned location. In partnership with the US Forest Service, this is the start of a two-year effort to sustainably re-route Hippo trail--so get ready to put tools to dirt! We will be constructing a new trail in a more sustainable location, before restoring the old trail in 2020.

For more information about the project, please contact geoffrey@wlrv.org.
