These well-loved trails see heavy year-round use by hikers and dog owners, and unfortunately, pet waste has become a growing issue impacting the health of the forest, water quality, and the trail experience for all users.

Join FDRD and Dog Days of Summit to help improve the National Forest by collecting and properly disposing of dog waste along trails and near trailhead. All necessary supplies, including gloves, waste bags, and collection tools, will be provided. In addition to hands-on stewardship, FDRD and Dog Days of Summit will offer brief educational messaging to raise awareness about the environmental impacts of pet waste and encourage responsible recreation.
