Support FDRD through Colorado Gives 2025

What is Colorado Gives?

FDRD’s Initiative Goals for 2026

  • Educational Programs

We are expanding our free educational programs, including the Speaker Series, and local tours on topics such as watershed health, wildlife, and history. And we are increasing volunteer training to engage the community and promote stewardship of our public lands.

  • Youth Forest Stewards

Entering our sixth season, we will expand the Youth Forest Stewards program. We plan to add leadership opportunities and resume workshops for high school students. And we will also engage more local youth in land conservation efforts.

  • Youth Programs

Launching in winter 2024-2025, our after-school programs for elementary students will focus on environmental education, wildlife safety, and forest stewardship. This provides high-quality after-school activities for the community and learning enrichment for future forest stewards.

  • Winter Ranger Patrol

In the winter of 2024/2025, FDRD launched a successful pilot program for Winter Ranger Patrols while on skis and snowshoes to engage winter visitors, promote responsible recreation, and report on public land conditions, bringing our popular Ranger Patrol program to the winter months.

  • Investing in our Staff

Our goal is to transition two seasonal employees to year-round positions. This will boost manpower and enable more high-quality projects, events, and gatherings to better serve the community.

  • Osprey Webcam Project

We are excited to fund a live-streaming camera focused on the Osprey nest near the Dillon Ranger Station building. This will provide an educational resource with local wildlife insights for the public.
