2024 Accomplishments
FDRD volunteers had a very busy 2024 summer field season filled with lots of trail maintenance, educational hikes, and cleaning up our public lands. Thank you to all of our volunteers, community and USFS partners for making this year one of our most successful! Folks from our community and beyond came out this year to help us maintain and improve our National Forest through forest stewardship work. The Dillon Ranger District has some of the most visited public lands in the nation, we appreciate all of the hard work our volunteers put in to keep it beautiful! Field Projects
- 3683 volunteer hours
- 1,121 volunteers
- 21,906 ft of trails maintained
- 38439 ft of corridor cleared
- 824 ft of buck and rail built
- 1 Turnpike-culvert constructed on the Windy Point Trail
- 3 Bridges Constructed:
- Lily Pad Trail 40 ft plank bridge in the Wilderness
- Shrine Ridge Trail 20 ft plank bridge
- West Ridge Trail 20 ft puncheon and 36 ft of approaches on either side
Ranger Patrol
- 131 patrollers
- 3,001 miles patrolled
- 550 patrol hikes
- 2,190 volunteer hours
Educational Hikes
- 3,440 youth and adults educated
- 589 volunteer hours
Adopt-a-Trailhead
- 323 volunteer hours
- 262 bags of trash collected
