August 2020 Project Accomplishments

AUGUST 2020 PROJECT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

August was a busy and successful month for us, after slowly easing back into public volunteer projects in July. Take a look at what we’ve been up to!

  • Constructed over 2,000ft of new trail on the Groovy Uvi reroute with the Summit Mountain Bikers and the Meadow Wood community of Summit Cove.

  • Rehabilitated 5,000 square feet of illegal road and 200 square feet of illegal campsites in Peru Creek with the Summit Seniors. We also collected one bag of trash and planted 10 trees and 10 native plants.

  • Cleared and filled bridge approaches on the Soda Creek Trail and filled in about 425 feet of cupped trail tread with back-fill. Two of these were public volunteer projects and the third included volunteers from Summit Association of Realtors.

    BEFOREAFTER
  • Collected thousands of seeds at Copper Mountain from a variety of local species, to promote biodiversity in restoration efforts. Some species were collected for the very first time to be used in restoration projects, including Golden rod, purple locoweed and red western columbine.

THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING VOLUNTEERS!!
